TV SHRINE 2001

was created for the Televisionary Art exhibit at Hollywood Entertainment Museum in spring 2001 by Phil Savenick with the help of sculptor Steve Markovics. The shrine consists of five working TVs and two hollowed out sets. Towering 10 feet tall, this homage to the boob tube contains TV tubes, knobs, toys, manipulated books, religious icons and rubber TV effigies. Crowning the top is an altarpiece honoringSt. Clare, the patron saint of television. Winged TVs carry her message "on the air" and the TV on the bottom contains a holy relic from "Mr. Television" himself
